Karaoke was a new activity during Family Weekend, held Oct. 1-2. More than 650 family members and students participated in in such offerings as disc golf, Family Olympics, a picnic and music trivia game. 2010 Arts Ball to Raise Funds for Schools Affected by Hurricane Katrina
This Halloween, Winthrop will face the "Curse of the Creole." The Arts Ball 2010: "Curse of the Creole" begins Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Byrnes Auditorium. All proceeds will benefit Louisiana schools, which lost art supplies, musical instruments, dance floors and more during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

ESPN Jay Bilas Will Be Keynote Speaker for 2010 Tip-Off Dinner
Jay Bilas, the well-known basketball television analyst for ESPN, will be the keynote speaker for the 2010 Winthrop Tip-Off Dinner which will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the new DiGiorgio Campus Center Banquet Hall.
