Im Chan graduated from Winthrop University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and minors in Studio Art and Anthropology. She is currently a graduate student in the Art Conservation Program at Buffalo State College specializing in paper conservation. Prior to her current studies, Im spent four years at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, first as a record technician in the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs and later as a conservation technician in the paper conservation lab. Im was also a conservation technician at the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts in Philadelphia. She spent the past summer interning in the paper conservation lab at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
