Degree Programs in Theatre
The Department
of Theatre and Dance offers a B.A. in Theatre with special emphases
in Performance, Design/Technical Theatre, or Teacher Certification
(K-12). The goals of the B.A. in Theatre Curriculum at Winthrop are
as follows:
1. Students
should demonstrate a fundamental understanding of and appreciation
for the creative processes of theatre, the socio-historical contexts
and the nature of the theatrical event.
2.
Students will achieve basic skills in performance and production.
3. Students should demonstrate a sense of commitment and a positive
attitude that will foster the creative process.
4. (Certification
Emphasis): The student will be an effective decision maker in
directing the education of students.
