Edmund Lewandowski (1914 - 1998) was
an influential precisionist painter and
art educator known for his images of
industrial, urban,
and architectural subject
matter. As the former chair of the
Department of Art and Design at
Winthrop University
from 1973
- 1984,
he was committed to Winthrop students
and the surrounding communities.
Winthrop University Galleries is excited to
exhibit the first major ever retrospective
of
this artist's work
organized by the
Flint Institute of Arts and curated by
Valerie Ann Leeds, Ph.D.
