How to Get Involved

organizations are other ways to get involved on Winthrop's
campus!
Purpose of Organization: WAR
holds meetings, programs, and events aimed at increasing
awareness and providing resources about sexual assault.
WAR wants women and men to feel safe on campus. Members
can be rape survivors, friends of survivors, or anyone
passionate about the cause.
Members come together to help stop this life changing
crime and act as advocates for survivors.
Description of Organization: WAR is a student led
organization hoping to enlighten students about rape and the
issues surrounding it.

Purpose of Organization: To
mobilize men to use their strength for creating cultures
free from violence, especially men's violence against women.
Description of Organization: To
institutionalize primary prevention of men's violence
against women through sustained initiatives that generate
positive, measurable outcomes in populations throughout the
world.

Purpose of Organization:
To raise advocacy and increase knowledge
within the student community regarding health/wellness issues.
Peer Health Educators are dedicated leaders that are responsible
for constantly learning and presenting these issues in a
non-judgmental yet interactive manner to their peers and
community.
Description of Organization: SWAT
is a peer education group that seeks to raise awareness,
increase knowledge, and advocate health and wellness within the student community.
Responsibilities include learning up-to-date information and
methods, learning how to convey information to others, and
ultimately educating peers.
