Sexual trauma can be caused by rape, attempted rape, incest, unwanted sexual contact, and sexual harassment.
Rape is
NOT
sex. It is an act of violence motivated by the rapist's need to dominate, control, and humiliate.
Anytime a person is forced physically or verbally to have sex against her or his own will, it is rape.
If you are raped, not matter what the circumstances, remember that it is
NOT
your fault.
Sexual assault can happen to anyone regardless of their race, class, age, appearance, or sexual orientation.
Despite what others might say, you
DO
have recourse and
CAN
get help after an assault.
