Awards for Undergraduate Students to Conduct Research

Inez Bell Caskey Student Scholar Award

The Inez Bell Caskey Student Scholar Award was established by Dr. Thomas Caskey, Director & CEO of The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine and Genetics, in honor of his mother, Inez Caskey, Winthrop alumna (class of 1930).
Awards have been given to: Lilah Campbell, Dylan Phillips, and Lyndsey Powell.

The Janice Chastain Houk Award for Undergraduate Research

The Janice Chastain Houk Award for Undergraduate Research was created in 2007 by her husband and sons to honor her life and memory.  Two rewards will be presented annually, one to a Biology student and one to a Political Science student.
