Family Orientation
The Purpose of Family Orientation
Winthrop recognizes that "when a student goes to college, a family goes to college."
The Family Orientation program offers parents and other family members of first-year students the opportunity to learn about various
campus services, policies and procedures, and also assists them in understanding the challenges their students
may face.
Family Orientation is held concurrently with the first day of each of the
orientation
session for students. Students and families will
attend the Welcome to Winthrop Session together and then separate, branching off
to their respective orientations.
After a student has registered for
Freshman Orientation, family members may register by visiting the
MyChecklist Website.
Once you register online, your student's account will be charged $10 for adults
and $5 for children 8 years old and under. These charges are non-refundable.
Once you have registered, you can look at the
Agenda Online.
