Orientation is a program designed to assist new students and their families in adjusting to life as a student at Winthrop University.
During Orientation, new students meet current student leaders, receive information on the academic and social aspects of college life, are advised, and register for classes.
All freshmen entering in the fall are required to attend one of four two-day Orientation sessions offered each June.
Family members are encouraged to take advantage of Family Orientation, a program offered concurrently with the first day of each of the student sessions.
Freshmen, transfer and New Start students entering Winthrop in the spring may take advantage of
Spring Orientation in January. This is a one-day Orientation held two days before classes begin.
