What is
included in the facility rental fee? |
|
The facility for 4 hours
of event time (in the case of an auditorium,
it includes the cost for 6 hours of event
time); event time is defined as when your
first guest arrives to when your last guest
leaves; event set up time can be negotiated
depending on the availability of the space
and complexity of the set up:
- tables and chairs; quantity of each
is dependent upon availability
- set up of Winthrop tables and chairs
(but not rented items)
- custodial service before and after the
event

which are available through ARAMARK
Catering Service

Am I required to use Winthrop's Catering
Service? |
|
Yes; ARAMARK
is Winthrop's exclusive catering company for
campus events. You can view their catering
menus and services
here. You are
allowed to bring your own specialty cake for
an event. |

Can alcoholic beverages be served during the
event? |
|
Yes; for
beer and wine bars, ARAMARK Catering must
provide the alcohol and a bartender for
your event. If you plan to serve liquor,
you must supply the alcohol and ARAMARK
Catering must provide the bartender and
mixers.

How do I set up an appointment to view a
facility? |
|
Contact the Office of Public Events at
803-323-2196. Appointments are generally
available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. until
5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend appointments
are available on a limited basis. |

Are there specific times of the year
when campus facilities are unavailable? |
|
Yes, Winthrop University does not
contract for external events during times
the University is closed or during
campus-wide events such as graduation,
convocation, and large admissions events. Contact the
Office of Public Events at 803-323-2916 for
specific dates.

May I take
portraits/pictures on campus? |
|
Yes. Please
