Copyright Policy
It is the policy of Winthrop University to respect the ownership of all intellectual material protected by copyright laws. The University does not condone copying instead of purchasing copyrighted works where such copying would constitute an infringement under copyright law, but it does encourage faculty to exercise good judgment in serving the best interests of students in an efficient manner. It is the policy of Winthrop University that the user (faculty, staff, student or librarian) secure permission to copy whenever it is legally necessary. The University and its faculty, staff and students will make a conscientious effort to comply with these guidelines.
