Discrimination Complaints
In keeping with the civil rights laws by which Winthrop University is governed, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1973, as amended, the following avenue is provided for students to pursue complaints alleging discrimination. Students who believe that they have been subjected to unlawful discrimination by another student should contact the Dean of Students. Students who believe that they have been subjected to unlawful discrimination by a Winthrop employee should contact the Dean of Students, or the Associate Vice President for Human Resources. Students whobelieve that they have been subjected to unlawful discrimination under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, including reasonable accommodation and access issues, should contact the University’s ADA Compliance Officer through the Dean of Students.
