Patricia Giblin Wolman, EdD, RD
Professor, Department Chair and Director of
the Graduate Program in
Human Nutrition
A graduate of Columbia University Teachers College and New York
University, Dr. Patricia Giblin Wolman has been teaching at Winthrop
University since 1984. She came to Winthrop from the
University of Maine where she was the Health and Nutrition
Specialist for the Cooperative Extension Service and Cooperating
Assistant Professor of Foods and Nutrition. While a doctoral
candidate, Dr. Wolman taught part time at Columbia University
Teachers College and Brooklyn College. Dr. Wolman's
practitioner experience includes past positions as Assistant Editor
of The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Nutrition
Consultant for the Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York, and
Metabolic Research Dietitian at the New York Hospital-Cornell
Medical Center and the New Jersey College of Medicine. She is
a member of The American Dietetic Association, the American Public
Health Association and Sigma Xi Research Society. Dr. Wolman
has published eight articles in refereed journals, three book
chapters, and more than 65 refereed research abstracts. She has
presented papers at 15 national meetings and numerous regional and
state meetings. Dr. Wolman is
the American Dietetic Association Professional Issues Delegate for
Education. From 1997 until her election as Professional Issues
Delegate for Education, Dr. Wolman was the South Carolina Delegate
to
The American Dietetic Association House of Delegates.
