Christine H. Goodner, MS, RD
Director, Didactic Program in Dietetics and Instructor of Human Nutrition
Christine H. Goodner has worked in the Department of Human
Nutrition since 1994. Prior to becoming an instructor, she
functioned as the research coordinator for grant funded research
projects conducted by Human Nutrition faculty members. In addition,
Mrs. Goodner assists graduate students working on their final
research projects. In 1998, she assumed the role of full time
instructor of normal nutrition and metabolism.
Professor Goodner received her Master of Science Degree in Human
Nutrition from Winthrop University in 1997 where she is a member of
Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. In 1976, she graduated magna cum laude
from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a B.S. degree
in Home Economics Education. Her research interests include low
income individuals, food security and trace minerals.
As a Registered Dietitian, Professor Goodner is a member of The
American Dietetic Association and the Consultant Dietitian’s
practice group. She serves as President of the Catawba
Dietetic Association. She was honored by the American Dietetic
Association by being chosen as South Carolina’s Outstanding
Student in 1996 and South Carolina's Outstanding
Dietitian in 2003. Professor Goodner has co-authored
two publications in Topics in Clinical Nutrition.

In the past, Professor Goodner taught high school home
economics, biology, and physical science in Georgia, Tennessee, and
Texas. Additionally she has experience working with learning
disabled teens through the South Carolina Public School System.
