2nd Annual Winthrop University-School Partnership Network Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal
To Partnership Conference Attendees:
The NetSCOPE office would like to thank everyone for their active participation in and contributions to our 2011 Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal! The conference was a success with over 100 participants, and we owe this success to the professional expertise, knowledge, and resources shared and the commitment to professional development and educational renewal by the members of our Partnership network. Thank you, and we are excited to move forward into a new year of change and progress with you all!

When looking back over the past year on our Partnership journey, we have much to celebrate. Our 2nd Annual Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal will provide an opportunity to reflect upon successes and engage in discussions of how to move our work forward.
Date: July 29, 2011
Time: Check-in/breakfast will begin at 8:00 with the Conference sessions scheduled 9:00 a.m. - 3:50 p.m.
Location: DiGiorgio Campus Center, Winthrop University (2020 Alumni Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29733)
Structure: We will have two general sessions and four concurrent sessions (along with breakfast and lunch!). The concurrent sessions will feature various reviewed and invited presentations and roundtable discussions. Upon arrival at the Conference, you will receive the daily schedule including concurrent session choices. We highly encourage school and university departments to plan their schedule (who will be attending which sessions) over breakfast to ensure as much information is gained from the day as possible. The conference will follow the following schedule:
Registration: At least 3 representatives from each Professional Development and Partner School (one of which should be a school administrator) are expected to attend the Conference. Space is available for several more, so please encourage others from your site to attend. If your school would like to send more than 8 participants, please contact the NetSCOPE office at 803/323.3080. Each participant should visit the Conference Registration page to complete the registration form by Monday, July 18.
Travel: Take Exit 82-B and follow directional signs toward Rock Hill (Cherry Road). Travel approximately 3.5 miles, turn left onto Alumni Drive, turn left on Heritage Lane and left on Scholars Walk in front of the West Center. Available parking will include the visitor and faculty/staff spaces in front of the DiGiorgio Campus Center as well as the faculty/staff lot across from the West Center on Heritage Lane. A Winthrop University parking pass is required for the Pre-Conference Grant Writing Workshop on July 28, 2011 and Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal on July 29, 2011.

Pre-Conference Grant Writing Workshop
Through Grant Management and Partnership Council discussions, the topic of professional development in grant writing emerged as an area of need. We are fortunate to have a group from Research Associates, a grant writing expert team, to offer an overview of navigating the grant-writing process.
Date: July 28, 2011
Time: Check-in/breakfast will begin at 8:00 with the workshop scheduled 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Withers 401, Winthrop University (611 Myrtle Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29733)
Structure: Participants are encouraged to bring grant ideas and/or grant proposal directions with them to the workshop. The NetSCOPE Research and Inquiry Grant Program is an excellent opportunity for beginning grant writers to work in collaborative school-university partnerships to impact teaching and learning. One of the outcomes of the workshop will be to have participants actually begin writing a grant that can be easily finished after the workshop. In addition to grant ideas, participants are encouraged to bring a laptop (if possible - we will have some on site for participant use), research/literature related to the proposal topic, and any known budget information that may be related to the grant topic (e.g., equipment/supply costs).
Registration: Schools and University departments interested in sending participants to the workshop are encouraged to have at least 2 representatives in attendance. Space is limited to 50 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. If your school would like to send more than 2 participants, please contact the NetSCOPE office at 803/323.3080. Each participant should visit the Pre-Conference Registration page to complete the registration form by Monday, July 18.
Directions: Take Exit 82-B and follow directional signs toward Rock Hill (Cherry Road). Travel approximately 3 miles, turn left onto Charlotte Avenue. Turn right at second stop light onto Myrtle Drive. Withers is the first building on the right.** Parking is available in faculty/staff spaces at the first right hand turn prior to Withers as well as on the other side of Myrtle Drive. A Winthrop University parking pass is required for the Pre-Conference Grant Writing Workshop on July 28, 2011 and Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal on July 29, 2011.
Maps:
**Upon entering Withers, please continue down main corridor to find elevator on right. Upon reaching the fourth floor, you will find room 401 at the end of the hall toward the left.
