The department of Health and Counseling Services supports
the health and wellbeing of Winthrop students. We believe in the
dignity, integrity, growth potential, and innate worth of the individual,
and we offer services to foster whole-person health through prevention,
education, assessment, treatment, and advocacy.
Health Services
Winthrop University Health Services is designed to provide
confidential, professional, quality, cost-effective, acute and routine
medical care for all enrolled Winthrop University students.
The staff
of Health Services is committed in obtaining optimum personal health for
each student through services and programs provided.
Counseling Services
Counseling Services will provide quality mental health
service to enhance the overall mental health of Winthrop University
students
along cognitive, emotional, personal, and interpersonal dimensions.
Office of Victims
Assistance
The Office of Victims Assistance is committed to
providing quality services and advocacy to victims and survivors of sexual
assault, stalking, and domestic and dating violence through a
concentrated community response. We support and provide
programming and education directed at eradicating sexual violence
both on campus and in the community.
Office of Disability Services
The Office of Disability Services helps to
create an accessible campus community where students with disabilities have
equal opportunity to fully participate in their educational experience at
Winthrop University.
Wellness Services
Wellness Services provides a collaborative, evidence-based
approach to individual and community wellness through health promotion,
educational programming, and service to the Winthrop community. Wellness
Services promotes the physical, emotional, social, intellectual,
occupational, and spiritual well-being of Winthrop students by enabling them
to make informed choices conducive to healthy lifestyles.
Testing Program and the Test Center
Provide secure, confidential test administration for
Winthrop University students and others in order to promote success, enhance
learning, and help test takers meet both professional and personal
educational goals.
