Creative Writing At Winthrop
|
|
Many students who major in English do so because of their own passion for writing. In the Winthrop English Department, many faculty members and students share this feeling. We have an active Literary Association that sponsors frequent readings and "open mic" nights so that all writers in our community can share their creations. Students can publish their work in The Anthology, our award-winning student literary magazine, and compete for several cash prizes. Many faculty members write poetry and fiction. And we have nationally-known creative writers on our faculty who teach the key creative writing courses in the Professional Writing Track and the Writing Minor. If you worry that creative writers can't get jobs, click here to see all the suggestions that Brent Spencer (of the Nebraska Center for Writers) has to offer. |
