Amanda Harris Baker ’07 wore her Winthrop shirt during her honeymoon recently when she visited Coco Cay, an island in the Bahamas. The Monarch of the Seas ship is behind her.

The Alumni Association now offers an easy and convenient way to read and submit class notes and milestones online to share with former classmates. Online class notes supplement alumni news in the Winthrop Magazine and offer a more convenient way to submit updates and can include recent photos to enhance your alumni news. Submissions may be included in future editions of the Winthrop Update or Winthrop Magazine.

  • Boone, N.C., resident Matthew Jenkins ’05 plans to run 760 miles across North Carolina this summer to raise awareness and money for youth organizations that have recently lost funding due to state budget cuts. Follow his progress here.

  • Greensboro, N.C., resident Kaye Childress Rhodenhiser ’96 recently earned a master of science degree in communication sciences and disorders from East Carolina University.

  • Having successfully defended his dissertation, Columbia, S.C., resident Carl Wells ’87 earned a doctor of philosophy in health services policy management with an emphasis in human resources from the University of South Carolina. The dissertation topic was the "Effects of Stress on Clerical Physical and Emotional Health Status."

  • Anna Altman Boyd ’05 of Enid, Okla., and her husband, Adam, recently welcomed a son, Samuel Walker, on Aug. 16, 2009.

  • Sandra Henderson Barbour ’70 retired from Northeastern Technical College in after 31 years and is now employed at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. She and her husband, Stephen, split their time between their homes in Surfside Beach and Cheraw, S.C

  • Eleanor FoxworthAlumnae from the class of 1960, who recently celebrated their 50th reunion, signed prints of Tillman Hall and delivered the keepsakes to former faculty/staff Eleanor Foxworth ’41 and Alice Love. Rosa Cherry ’60, right, delivered the print to Foxworth, who is now 89 years old.
