Alumni Update

careerfair

Mallory Liberty, a human nutrition major, ran in the April 4 Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, S.C. She decided to wear one of her Winthrop T-shirts during what was her first 10K race. Her family reports that the announcer yelled "Winthrop" as Liberty ran past the start line. Send us photos of amazing places where you were wearing Winthrop apparel. We’ll run the most interesting photos in an upcoming issue of the Winthrop Magazine. Submit photos to wualumni@winthrop.edu.

• What are affinity groups? Affinity groups connect alumni with each other based on a shared experience while at Winthrop – such as fraternities, sororities, majors, honor societies or athletics. If you are interested in establishing an affinity group or would like more information about existing affinity groups, please visit the affinity Web page or contact Joanna Haughey Allen, events coordinator, at 803/323-2145 or allenjh@winthrop.edu.

• Alumni volunteer opportunities. The Alumni Association offers several opportunities for alumni to become active with the Winthrop campus and community. If you are interested in serving your alma mater and fellow alumni, visit the volunteer Web page or complete a volunteer application.

• Show your Winthrop pride. Learn more about representing Winthrop in your community. Get details about the official Winthrop ring, Winthrop license tag and affinity credit card.

• Stay connected. You can keep up with the latest alumni news on popular social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. More than 1,000 alumni have already reconnected on Facebook, and Twitter is a great way for you to receive alumni updates on your mobile device.

• Update your records today. Do you have a new job, marriage, baby or other life-changing event you would like to share with the Winthrop family? If so, please update your records so information may be included in a future Winthrop Magazine. Since several methods that we used to obtain alumni information are no longer available, we need you to let us know of your latest accomplishments. All you need is your alumni ID. Update your records if you have an ID already. Request your ID.
