Alumni Update

• Save the Date. Homecoming 2009 will be on Saturday, Feb. 28. The men’s basketball team will play Coastal Carolina in the last game of the regular season. Stay tuned for information.

• Show Your Winthrop Pride. Wear garnet and gold on Sept. 26 for Garnet and Gold Friday. Send us photos of you (and your family or friends) supporting Winthrop, and we will post them on our Web site. During Garnet and Gold Friday, Student Alumni Council members reward fellow students, like the one at right, for wearing garnet and gold.

• Update Your Records Today. Do you have a new job, marriage, baby or other life-changing event you would like to share with the Winthrop family? If so, please update your records, so information can be included in a future Winthrop Magazine. Since several methods that we formerly used to obtain alumni information are no longer available, we need you to let us know of your latest accomplishments. All you need is your alumni ID. Update your records if you have an ID already. Request your ID.

• Alumni Relations Office Updates. Ryan Sheehan ’05, ’07 joined the Alumni Relations Office as the assistant director of alumni relations. He is responsible for coordinating alumni programs and events, as well as serving as the advisor to the Student Alumni Council. Melanie Brandon has also joined the office as the data entry clerk / receptionist. Check out the Alumni Relations staff.

• Alumni Reunion Celebration. The classes of 1934, 1939, 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974 and 1979 are invited to return to campus for Alumni Reunion Celebration 2009 held on May 15-16, 2009. More information will be provided as it comes available.
