• A Pocket Guide to Choosing a College. During the college visit, it is important to ask a lot of questions to find the right university for you. The National Survey of Student Engagement has compiled a list of important questions to consider when visiting universities. Some questions you may want to ask:

  • How much time do students spend on homework each week?

  • How much writing is expected?

  • Do students work together on projects?

  • Do students have opportunities to tutor or teach other students?

  • How many students work on research projects with faculty?
