Link to Winthrop’s vital Web services

You can find out a lot about Winthrop by going to the university’s Web site. So many different tidbits of information can be found on the site if you know where to look. But where do you start?
Let us offer you some pointers:

* Wonder what the weather is like on the Winthrop campus? You can find out by checking the university’s Web site at http://www.winthrop.edu/visitor/webcam.htm. The Web cam is mounted in Bancroft Hall, facing north toward Byrnes Auditorium.

* Winthrop has a long tradition of public art and design starting back to the university’s first president, D.B. Johnson. Today, Winthrop supports an innovative program that gives art and design students ongoing opportunities to create temporary and permanent installations for the university’s public spaces. If you are interested in seeing what public art is on the campus, you can go to: http://www.winthrop.edu/tour/publicart/

* What are Winthrop’s plans for the future? What are the additions to the campus since your last visit? Check out the Facilities Design and Development site to learn more about “Seeding the Future:” http://www.winthrop.edu/fdd/default.htm

* How is your favorite Eagles sports team doing? Where do you find their schedule? The athletics main page has easy to find links to help you stay informed about the Eagles. Go to: http://www.winthropeagles.com/

The groundbreaking for the new Lois Rhame West Health, Physical Education and Wellness Center will be on Nov. 12. The $21.6 million center is named for Winthrop alumna and former South Carolina First Lady Lois West, who earned her degree in physical education at Winthrop in 1943.
