A level three incident is a disaster affecting the entire campus’ grounds and surrounding community. Regular university operations are suspended. The effects of the emergency are wide ranging and complex. A timely resolution of disaster conditions requires university-wide cooperation and extensive coordination with external jurisdictions. The CIMT shall act to advise the president on university matters and manage the university’s response.
Examples of level three incidents include a hurricane or tornado with major damage to university, city and county infrastructure; major earthquake; fire that threatens an extensive area of the region; widespread nuclear, chemical or biological agent contamination; or major criminal event involving possible loss of life.
Level 3 response plans include:
