Gangs of New York
Legendary director Martin Scorsese helms this historical epic about the Irish and Italian gangs that settled into New York’s five points from the period between 1846 and 1863. In the most violent part of the world, a young man named Amsterdam (DiCaprio) is on a dangerous crusade to avenge his father’s murder. To do so, he must take down the most ruthless leader in New York, Bill the Butcher. Amsterdam has learned from a hard life on the streets that the first step is to gain access to his inner circle of friends. Gaining control of the gangs means gaining control of his own life. Cameron Diaz also stars as the woman Amsterdam falls in love with, who stands with him as he fights to defend the honor of his father.
