Annual gifts to the Winthrop Fund are the cornerstone of Winthrop’s fundraising efforts each year. The Winthrop Fund is a key revenue source for student scholarships, the Winthrop Alumni Association, faculty awards and other university initiatives on an annual basis. Annual gifts to the Winthrop Fund go to work immediately helping all students. Because they are unrestricted, gifts to the Winthrop Fund can be used where they are needed most. Annual giving dollars are raised and spent in the same year.

Many constituents are contacted throughout the fiscal year via personal correspondence and direct mail, visits from volunteers and staff and through the annual Phonathon. Constituents include alumni, parents, friends, corporations, foundations, faculty, staff, current students and trustees.
