Alumni Drive Elevation
A new "townhouse-style" housing option
opened to students
in 2003, made possible by a donation of property by Springs Industries, Inc., to the Winthrop University Real Estate Foundation. The building
is designed in traditional Winthrop neo-classical style around a center courtyard
and features a facade reminiscent of three-story townhouses.
The design is a reflection of current trends away from the high-rise housing construction that once characterized most university campuses, and a conscious contribution to the City of Rock Hill's "Old Town" Renaissance initiative. The housing
was developed by the Winthrop University Real Estate Foundation along with Capstone Development of Birmingham, Ala.
