MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree numbers, tree hierarchy and explosion capabilities to search abstracts from over 4,600 current biomedical journals. Included are citations from Index Medicus, International Nursing Index, Index to Dental Literature, PREMEDLINE, AIDSLINE, BIOETHICSLINE, and HealthSTAR. The journals are published internationally, covering all areas of medicine. Examples of publications covered in MEDLINE include: Accident and Emergency Nursing, Addiction, Administration and Policy in Mental Health, Behavior Modification, Behavioral Medicine, Cancer Detection and Prevention, Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Maternal and Child Health Journal, etc.
Dacus Library provides three different ways to access the MEDLINE database. The only difference between the three is the appearance of the search screen. Which one to use is a matter of personal preference.
