Scholarship Criteria
Helen Beckham Memorial SC resident, foreign language major, consideration may be given for summer study abroad between junior and senior years
Helen K. Bussell Rising female senior majoring in Modern Languages
Lisa Hudson Evans Political Science major with financial need
Annette Gillespie Rising senior majoring in History
John Guilbeau Rising junior or senior beginning graduate student; proficiency in foreign language and interest in the humanities; financial need
Stewart Haas Mass Communication major; emphasis in print; renewable to rising junior or senior who maintains a 3.0 or higher GPA
Hayes Scot Heavner Upperclassman; financial need; academic excellence; seeking teaching certificate and coaching
Betty Freeman Hinman Preference given to student with at least junior status who has maintained a 3.0 GPA overall in math courses and seeking a Bachelors in Math
Betty Morgan Holcombe Pickens County, SC resident entering sophomore year or above; liberal arts major with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
Janice Chastain Houk Award to be split equally between one student involved in undergraduate research in biology and one in undergraduate research in political science.
Jefferson Pilot Awarded to a communication major entering his/her sophomore year and selected on academic achievements in his/her freshman year
Lawrence D. Joiner Rising junior or senior to travel abroad to study or perform research in the Humanities; special consideration given to study and research in foreign language and literature
Nancy G. Jones Biology major; financial need a consideration but not necessary; first preference given to students from Cherokee County, SC and second preference given to SC resident
Landrum-Layton Human Nutrition major with financial need
Robert P. Lane Rising junior or senior English major; preference given to those pursuing English at graduate level and a college teaching career
Joe B. Lanford Internship with City of Rock Hill; junior or senior; Political Science major. TO APPLY: MUST COMPLETE SPECIAL FORM FROM POLITICAL SCIENCE (346 BANCROFT)
Georgia I. Lefvendahl Arts & Sciences major with financial need and 3.0 or higher GPA
Wayne T. Patrick Mass Communication major with emphasis on print journalism for full-time study on campus or internship (Internships based on criteria developed by the Dept. of Mass Communication); recipient selection determined by Dean of CAS and Chair of Mass Communication
Ellen V. Randolph Rising junior who has selected a curriculum that will lead to a minor in gerontology (needs to be full time student)
Rudisill-Hamm Biology major with at least a 3.0 GPA
SC Food Service Supervisors Assoc. SC resident Human Nutrition major with minimum 3.0 GPA
Sherer Pre-Dental Awarded to pre-dental student exhibiting financial need
Anita Jones Spearman Upperclassman Political Science and/or journalism (communications) major
Ina Rufus Stutts Human Nutrition major; resident of Cleveland or Scotland County, NC or Dillon County, SC; high achieving student based on scholastic record
