As Winthrop University’s Chief Development Officer, Brien is responsible for the Office of Development, the Office of Alumni Relations, the Winthrop University Foundation, and the Winthrop University Real Estate Foundation.
Active in the community, Brien is the Chair of the United Way of York County Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Directors for the Early Learning Partnership of York County.
Brien was most recently the founding Dean of University College at Winthrop, a position he held for four years. Prior to joining Winthrop in 1999 as the Executive Assistant to the President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees, he practiced law in North Carolina.
